soon after the trek trip’s over, it’s back to work. and immediately i had to host Prof Yoel Donchin, expert in medical human factors, and now a good friend
for those who did wonder, yes i was at mambo’s 16th anniversary celebration.
blogging takes a backseat for now, as i try to catch up on work. my fellow PhD-mate has already submitted his first-year report! sheesh!
on another note, it’s really refreshing to hear R&B artistes experimenting with other genres. the last time i remembered, Outkast, or more accurately, Andre 3000, came up with Hey Ya (you know, shake it like a polaroid picture), and that was definitely an experimental hit. oh wait there’s also Rihanna’s retro-ish Please Don’t Stop The Music. now we have Chris Brown doing Forever, as well as Ne-Yo’s Closer. i wonder if it’s just an industry ritual, or have they finally realized that R&B ain’t all that musical after all.
yes, SQ is not that big a fan of R&B / Hip Hop. Rap on the other hand is artistic, especially if it’s locally-flavored.
